My ACT score of 27 was about average for getting in to BYU at the time I applied. Alot of people get in with ACT scores a lot lower than mine. Because the school has religious affiliations they are looking for students with a service orientation and high ethical standards. In your essays you can stress any community or church service you have done. Maybe tell of times you made a decision to be honest. Everything in the school: teacher/student relations, testing, etc is based on integrity. Good luck! Its worth the application.

Music - Performance

Just fill out the online application by January 15th if you want to apply for the Hinckley scholarship, February 15th otherwise. If you want to get into the school of music, I strongly recommend you get in contact with your instrument teacher and audition your senior year in high school. Names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses for the teachers can be found at the BYU website (A-Z listing > Music, school of). Hope to see you here in Utah Valley!

Political Science

I love the music and arts offered everywhere. I am also a huge fan of the international atmosphere. And finally, the political speakers and forums from supreme court justices to senators and just plain journalists and international experts, are inspiring.
