Essay (1) | Communications | Feb 10 2009 | Write a good essay. Show them how you're different. Something like 15000 people applied for the 1200 spots available my year. If you think you can play a sport, come for a night as a recruit, that will help you. For theatre and art audition/show your portfolio.  Before I transferred at the university I went to the CUNy Portal system to make sure that my credits were transferrable. After I was accepted I sat down with a rade evaluator and went over courses that were not transferrable and why weren't they. I had a 2.9 unweighted GPA in AP/Honors course, summer community college credit, and SAT's of 1470, with little extracurriculars. Basically, a solid GPA and SAT scores are good enough to get you in here, and residency doesnt seem to affect admission.
