You either love or hate the school. It is not a Job Training style education. The classes at Bennington are mostly for the seeker. Not the lazy sit down and be fed type. You are strongly encouraged to seek out your interests, and the education you want out of Bennington. You are not totally on your own though. You do have faculty advisors and student advisors to offer advice and help. Also, once a semster you write a plan essay (describing your plan at the college) and meet with faculty to discuss it.

The campus is amazingly beautiful and the houses are very comfortable to live in. The administration has it's scandal though and there is always a bit of sketchiness in faculty departures and the non renewing of certain contracts. My guess is that happens a lot at other institutions only you do not here about it like you do here, because it is such a small campus. But, the administration is always willing to meet with and talk to students and they are always attentive to student demand even if they seem a bit off kilter. If you have a weird topic or intetrest and are willing to follow through ,and work hard to achieve your goal, the college is very willing to work with you. Everyone is incredibly friendly and as you move along through your time you begin to be on a first name basis with a lot of the campus.
