I came from California here, and the results seemed to be disastrous. Firstly, I must say that my academic experience was top notch and unforgettable. There are a lot of really smart students here. But, the social situation at times can drag smart students into it and ruin their academic experience. The school is fraternity dominated, masculinity rules supreme. If you're not Greek, then you're a nobody. And frankly, the fraternities at Wake Forest disgusted me. They are full of southern aristocrat kids who just sit around all day and talk about eating pizza, raping women, and drinking beer. It scared me a lot. The surrounding area isn't as bad as people say it is, but the university is a lot like a dark mysterious place although the grounds are beautiful in a way. |
