Good diversity of clubs, horrible diversity of students. Staff and Higher-ups seem to think diversity is there. Seems 95% white. Technology is poor. Does the contracted food service PAY Fort Lewis to be there? Cost goes up, services go down, classes have been cut, and morale is questionalble among professors. HOWEVER, professors are diverse, competent, on the whole helpful, and display that they enjoy teaching. This is probably due to the fact they organize sucessful peer groups to hire. Great opportunities to access to professors. Good teachers ar eEasy to cruise through the system of your savy enough. You could get a great gpa here then go on to grad school! Where you'll actually be challanged. Durango is very limited: small music scene, overpriced goods and services, housing is slim and you pay good dollar for crap (who else but students can come up with 500 each for a 4 bedroom house). Out of town and yuppie property owners are laughing at you all the way to the bank! Townies overall look down upon students, because hey, they're cool cause their makin' it or made it somewhere else and moved to Durango. MY ADVICE: pick another school in a more diverse town, because this school isn't worth the cost any more |
