Shortly, after I arrived at Alabama, I realized that this is the way college should be. This university has great traditions. Of course, everyone knows about Alabama's championship tradition in sports, but this university is also 8th in the nation in producing CEO's of Fortune 500 companies. The University of Alabama produces, by far, most of the doctors, lawyers, and CEO' in the state. Also, UA has produced 15 Rhode's scholars, 15 Goldwater scholars, 9 Truman scholars, 114 Fulbright scholars, and 22 USA Today All-American Academic Team members. No other school in the state, and only a few in the nation, can touch these numbers. Just this year, Alabama had 5 students selected to the USA Today All-American Academic Team (no other school has ever produced this many winners in one year). Alabama is an awesome university socially, too. Also, the university has been rated as one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation. As I approach graduation, I know I will miss this place so much. But, I know this university has prepared me well for the world. |
