There is nothing to do in the immediate area surrounding Pitzer. The only good academic departments are the Psychology and Sociology department. The English department lacks good/permanent professors. There are alot of visiting professors, which is bad because they don't put thier all into the classes and it is difficult for the students to get to know them. As an english major I take most of my classes at Scripps and Pomona. The upside to this is a better education but then I find myself wondering why I didn't just go to Scripps or Pomona. Another thing that Pitzer probably won't tell you is that the housing is very poor. One cannot get a single until their junior year(unless they have a physical or psychologial ailment), and that isn't always gaurenteed. Also, if you visit Pitzer, note the location of the Student center, and realize that barely anyone uses it, which is important because the crappy student center takes away from any "college feeling" that Pitzer could of ever had. |
