The facility and building are charming in certain areas, but lacking in others. This is improving as the college receives more money. (I hope) The students are mostly friendly and all are very creative. I do get the sense that not everyone is as excited to be there as I am, and that a lot of people are there in free rides from their parents - so the participation in class is dissappointing at times. The faculty has been my biggest gripe. There are a few professors who appear to be out for your best interest, and help you in certain areas with advice and feedback but then turn around and rip it apart. Also giving a lower grade than expected. Many of the classes I have had have proven to offer no formal instructions, and I have left wondering if the teachers just wanted a paycheck. The teachers seemed to be in the position to not be open in their knowledge but instead slightly bitter about the art world and pushing students down in ways that made them appear bitter about their failures. Not everyone cares about the students, and some are arrogant and rude. Though there is a strong emphasis on student attendance, this has never applied to the instructors, who come and go as they please. I am disappointed with the instructors more than anything. |
