Go away to school, learn and grow in a semi-protected environment with others in the same situation. Go to a school where you will be challenged but not overmatched. If you aren't ready, work until you can appreciate the opportunity.

USE YOUR PROFESSOR's office hours, even just to chat. This is where some of the best learning can occur, and your professor learns your name and equates it to an interested student. Worry more about knowledge than the grade (which will come).

Take a variety of interesting courses, everything may be useful to your future. Enjoy yourself - in a constructive sense.
