Statistical Analyzer:

Not only do I attend Tufts University, I was born and raised in Somerville, MA, which is the city, along with Medford, that Tufts University resides in. Somerville is an extremely diverse community made up of every race, religion and ethnic group imaginable. So, when entering the Tufts community I met many students who would had never been in a class with nor have seen people of other races and religions. This was an entirely new environment for me. I've learned more racial slurs and seen more hate crimes here than I have in my 19 years in Somerville.

Not only that, it was difficult for me (and still is) adjusting to the HUGE financial jump. Moving from a welfare community to Tufts, where everyone appears to be well off coming from their private high schools with their brand new BMWs not understanding that there are people in the world who don't have enough money to own a car, or house, and are struggling with their Tufts University bills. I have never met more rich, heartless people in my life.

Attending Tufts and coming from Somerville, I have had to deal with numerous comments about where I'm from having anything to do with how I got in in the first place. Then even more comments about why I'm living on campus or why I'd even attend a university that is so close to my house. I wish now that I hadn't.

There are plenty of clubs mostly for people of different races. There's the latino house, the african american house, and the gay straight house. With all these different houses and a place for (almost) everyone to go. Why does everyone feel so oppressed?

Why don't people of different racial backgrouds interact with one another? Is it because of these different clubs and organizations?

Tufts does have a decent academic program, but I expected the work to be much harder.
