In choosing an undergraduate school, focus not so much on a career as on becoming an educated, well-formed human being. Look for a solid liberal arts program with a coherent, integrated core curriculum. You will never have a better chance to become a mature person of depth and character than you will have in such a college. If you can achieve this, you can go on to achieve anything, in any career or profession. I do not believe that the world needs more well-trained technicians. The world needs more educated—truly educated—persons. |
