Stevens is the best engineering and science university in the east. In my opinion, my experience is quite the opposite of the other reviewer who says that Stevens encourages narrow thinking. Stevens has the broadest engineering curriculum of any (152 credits), please contrast this with a typical university in which the engineering school is only a small part of a greater liberal arts base- you don't get a well-rounded engineering education since there isn't enough time to go beyond one's direct major (electrical, mechanical, chemical, etc). and you also dont get that well-rounded a liberal arts. Stevens gives the most well-rounded technological education with sufficient humanities to be educated in more than just engineering, at the expense of a very heavy workload. In all of my professional engagements since graduation, and now as a consulting engineer, the rigorous education I received at Stevens has given me an advantage among less-well prepared peers from other schools.

I strongly recommend Stevens to only the best and brightest of high school students, who want to work very hard to get a degree that means you really learned your profession in great depth. Stevens is not a place for slackers or partyers, you will be gone in the first year if you do.
