SDSU is a joke. The slogan should be "encouraging excellence by decreasing standards" don't expect to meet anyone who isn't a smalltown South Dakotan, I don't know why we are going Div I and wasting so much money when all the state schools in the surrounding (yes every damn state) have better academics, ranging from high level tier 4 schools like NDSU to Tier 1 publics like UofN-Lincoln, or some of the U of M and U of I schools, don't believe read the Collegian our weekly news rag, its so bad that the staff of the USD paper uses it as a standard of how not to write a newspaper or you can always to 90.7 for some real college radio (if you are fucking stupid and think Nickelback is college radio). I was at NSU and Twin Cities (U of M) and I can say this place is the worst of the three, I went to NSU after the U of M-Twin Cities costs too much money and thought Brookings would be better because the campus is much larger, boy I was wrong. Admin has this attitude that this is some big important place, look at the USNWR ratings this is lower half of tier 4—if you scored above a 25 ACT and had good grades get out of South Dakota if you can. You can always come here to Brookings but don't expect to learn anything except how to drink an entire case of beer in a sitting. |
