Skidmore was life-changing for me in many ways. I "awoke" academically there. I did very well in high school gradewise, but was very bored and rarely excited by school. From day one at Skidmore I felt challenged and supported by faculty and friends. Saratoga has become like a second home to me, and I return often with friends...it was a beautiful, exciting place to go to school...kind of feels like our playground during the winter when all the tourists are gone! Tons of great bars and restaurants, live music, shopping...its awesome. The students, while some were wealthy/apathetic types, were generally very friendly, unpretentious, creative, open minded and laid back...with very diverse interests. Everybody seems to have their "thing" that they do really well, whether its sports or theater or sculpture or whatever. The talent of my classmates was amazing to me and continues to be. If you're looking for a small school with great liberal arts across the board, performing arts and not in the middle of nowhere, check it out!!
