well, i cant speak for every program here at purchase, but as a junior photography major i can say that i have grown tremendously as an artist and as a person in my few years here. the professors in my department are incrediably talented and challenging, they encourage and foster an open creative enviornment..you become friends with them. yes i gave the aesthetics of the campus a d-, the only saving grace being the folliage in the fall. the friends i have made here and the people i have met are priceless. they are unlike anyone i have ever met. of course there are your typical pretentious art school kiddies, but if u wait around long enough..u will find the heart of this school are the interesting, open minded, fun loving, creative souls that reside here. you'll fight constantly to change policies made by an administration that doesnt understand this certain charm that makes purchase what it is…but people wouldnt try to change it if it wasnt worth it.
