While the small rural community of Emporia is a complete cultural and societal wasteland, ESU attempts to remedy the community's deficiencies with on-campus events and activities, and the campus' close proximity to Topeka, Wichita, and Kansas City ensures that you won't be bored on the weekends. The social life trade-off is more than offset by ESU's extremely reasonable price, and by the successful experience you will have there. At ESU, the professors are not only experts in their respective fields, but they really know HOW to teach (a big priority at ESU), with nearly all of them having mastered the delicate balance between being academically demanding, and supportive at the same time. And the work ethic you'll learn will essentially guarantee your success at any job you undertake after you graduate. After a gentle four years, you will leave ESU with a good GPA, great friends, relationships with your professors that will last a lifetime, and manageable student loan debt! |
