Alabama A&M is not a research Institution, which leads to a lack of funding for science and technology. We are not equipped with state-of-the art equipment, which can hinder the scientific development of undergraduate student. Despite the under-funded facilities and under-paid faculty, our professors work hard to prepare us for fierce competition. My advice to students in science at A&M…get as much research experience in the summer as possible!! Start taking internship your freshman year and try to get accepted into programs at top research institutions. These experiences will show you where you are weak before it’s too late! If you're a science or engineering student think about a dual enrollment program. As a science graduate of Alabama A&M University I was behind when compared to students from GA tech, UCLA, and UAB. But in life, you will always have a point where you have to struggle and there will always be someone better. Alabama A&M University prepares you for those moments. When you ain't got it, you figure out how to get it through networking!! |
