Where to begin with carlow college. Umm, this school sucks, but at the same time can be very rewarding. Being a science major here is awesome because the school has a whole building dedicated just to that, which has brand new state of the art equipment. It's also nice because it's a small school, so you don't have to sit in class with 75+ people. Unfortunetely this is also a bad thing, because your teachers will get to know you and almost all of them have attendance policies (miss 3 days you fail). The other thing is that from my experiences here the financial aid department is worthless, unless you are willing to research all the loan and grant information on your own and bring it to them. Most of the professors at this school don't even really care about what's going on in the class either, the only professors that I came across that actually earned their paychecks were: Dr. Schumaker, Dr. Toth, and Dr. Stewert. The computer labs are always fucked up (I.E. computers missing keyboards, or printers being broken) and the IT department is worthless when it comes to fixing anything. The living situation is even more bleak, if you're a male student you can't live on campus, and if you're a female student you can't have overnight visitors. The cafeteria is disgusting it's always infested with gnats, and it operates on very limited hours. Oh and for potential male students, regardless of what the school tells you, the coed student body thing is bull shit, they won't help you find a place to live, and there are professors that will make it abundantly clear that you're not welcome here. The other big problem I had was with the students here. Most of the students that come here are either from very well off families of from hicksville, usa. The "rich" kids will make it a point to let you know that they have money, and the hicks will just annoy you. The other problem is that everyone goes home on the weekends, so come friday afternoon the campus is dead. Overall this is a nice school if you're a science major and you're looking for a small college, but if you're looking for a fun collge experience you won't find it here, so on both counts I would say pass this place up and keep going unless you really like pittsburgh.
