I didn't realize just how "not worth it" it was until I left and met people who had gone to other colleges. They had many more "fun" times… a lot more dating… a nicer environment… and often a smaller debt load (if any).And, even if starting salaries are good for RPI grads…compare them 5, 10, 20 years later—that edge QUICKLY wears off.For the strengths that RPI offers, it is not worth the long-term effect of the minuses. You can always go on to grad school later—but you only get one shot at 18-22 years old. |
