I had problems with records that took two years to resolve. I have never encountered customer service this poor anywhere in any industry. The faculty gets a mixed review. While most of the faculty could be described as average, some are quite capable of engaging students, and would be an asset to any institution of higher learning. Unfortunately, there is a notable minority of faculty that has absolutely no business teaching real students. For example, I took an honors English/Literature class in which we studied Hitchcock for a week, and Steinbeck's East of Eden for a day. To make matters worse, there was very little in the way of discussion. Overall, I recommend skipping the community college and going straight to a university. The small savings in cost at a two year school is not justified by the extra administrative obstacles and the increased liklihood of ending up in the class of an inept professor. |
