Although WPI is not MIT, its unique approach to education is simply untouchable. When I was applying to schools, I had applied to MIT,RPI,WPI,Northeastern, and Umass: Amherst. I was accepted to all of them. Initially I really wanted to go to MIT, but I found WPI having a much better approach to undergraduate education. WPI gives you the practical applications to prepare you for a rewarding industry career as well as giving you the sophistication and rigorous theory needed to pursue graduate studies. Not everyone does well here. The grading system is a plus because it allows students to cover there mistakes (F's). If you graduate from WPI with a good academic standing (3.5+/4.0) you're either a very gifted person or a work-aholic. WPI is not MIT. My advice to you is come here for undergrad and go to MIT for graduate work. I warn you WPI is by no means a walk in the park. It is tough. |
