I have friends who did not join a fraternity and those who did and all have had a good time although not all made it to get their walking papers (I am in the third category of spending limited time as a member of a fraternity that was focefully removed from campus). IU is worth it if you pay in-state tuition, but I wouldn't recommend paying out of state costs (unless mommy and daddy are buying; sorry I just finished my deferment period). There are some majors that are easy such as Business, SPEA, Telecom, etc. but if you major in a hard science you will be in for a decent challenge. Many of my friends transferred in from community colleges and could not make it in IU's classes although at times they could not make it TO the classes. For those of you who want a challenge, follow my lead and get over a 1350 on the SAT or graduate in the top 5% of your class and enter the honors college. If you go through this program, you are in classes with a similar caliber of students and your discussion groups are taught by the actual professor rather than the TA. Bottom line if your some nerd who lives on the internet moping about how all the arrogant rich kids don't like him and the girls won't give it up that will be the experience you associate with this place. Get out and live instead of complaining and wondering what never was!! |
