Disregard students who say it is a strong program. A more appropriate name for the degree should be (micro)computer engineering. In 4 years you essentially learn how to create rudimentary programs on Motorola chips, which are already backwards to the industry. There is no mention of PC's, only one (outdated) computer architecture course (with no follow up class), no talk about motherboard layout, high speed design, signal integrity, power budgets, multi-processor systems, different operating systems and their tradeoffs, or any of the other topics one would expect from a computer engineering program.Save the cash and go to a better school. If you are looking for a co-op program consider University of Cincinnati (www.uc.edu), California Polytechnic (www.calpoly.edu), or University of Missouri-Rolla (www.umr.edu). |
