All the professors and students there are friendly and being a small school you get to know many of them. The course work was not what I was expecting I am currently taking 15 credits and none of my classes are that challenging and go at rather a slow pace. For some people that style might be preferred but for me i prefer a fast paced curriculum or else I tend to slack off and lose intrest in class. I am expecting a G.P.A. of about 38-4.0 and I intend to transfer out to the University of Massachusetts-Lowell to purse a double major in electrical engineering and computer science. My reasons for leaving include not being challenged, there aren't many places to learn outside of the classroom, and while a close community there is not much to do. I was hoping to get involved but as a commuter your are somewhat isolated from the rest of the population. But then again this is my experience overall I have nothing bad to say about the school it just wasn't for me part of going to college is going to the school that fits you best not because of the name, or because they give you a certain amount of financial aid. It just depends on what your personality is after coming to DWC for a semester I have realized that I am more of a city person and that a university sized school would be a better fit for me. The point I am trying to stress is to go to the school and see if it's for you. After all school isn't really about the name but rather that it fits you. Also you get what you put in…so the more you put in at any school in general the more you will get out. Oh yeah the facility/maintenance crew is the best. |
