I'm from phoenix and some of my friends decided not to go there cuz it is a small town and not much to do. Very different from ASU. I really wanted to get away from the stress and rush of the city. So far in the past week i've been more relaxed than i've been in the past 1 yr of community college in phx. People are really layed back, they aren't stressed much at all. No one is in rush. My days are waking up for class in the morning, getting to walk to class thru the nice campus. Chilling in the afternoon, being with frends and maybe going to work. On the weekends it gets a bit more interesting if there are parties in the apartments by the campus. If you live in dorms the school does arrange fun activities like karaoke and there are free school sport games to go to. Academics: teachers are pretty nice too, they try to make them selves available. They are layed back and don't put pressure on students to do good in their class. I do have 2 teachers that have accents and it's hard to understand them the first class but then everyone pretty much got use to it. One teacher is still a bit confusing but the other is a very good teacher in general. So basically if you haven't noticed in my comments, the town is very layed back and so are the people. It's a very nice atmosphere and the campus is so beautiful when it snows. The next day it could be sunny and so nice to walk to class in. There's a ski resort 10 min driving from the campus on those days also. So if you like the idea of living in a small town like this, apply. |
