Statistical Analyzer:

Washtenaw is a very good community college. The visual arts teachers have very high standards, which comes as a shock to those who take art as a "fun" elective. The art department is a very dedicated and over-qualified bunch.

Also, the graphic design and photography programs seem excellent, I don't know much from personal experience, but the facilities are phenomenal. A lot of art and design-oriented people could save money by coming here and feeling their way around their field before committing to a more expensive education. If you are dedicated here, I think you can transfer to wherever you want to (and can afford to) go.
