I am an FMU Online (out of state student). FMU has a very good program for study Online when it comes to the course content. However FMU could make a better effort to put more money into the program for Extracurricular Activities in the Online environment, such as setting up an Online student union, offering tutoring programs that students can access with live professors, including an Online bookstore with textbooks and merchandise, and offering better services Online. All these things could easily happen with little effort and would enhance the quality of the program, but FMU has yet to put in that effort, instead is more concerned about profit and forgetting about things that are important to many current and potential students. Most of the time I do feel just like a number or a "customer" rather than a student as I am treated like such. They mostly want to know when they are getting paid, and hope students don't complain. They are also priced pretty high. Despite all this, I am continuing with FMU because it is convienient for me. My work schedule will not permit me to take classes onground, despite my 3.9 GPA and test scores that could have gotten me into a similar priced, higher quality university if I so choose. I am currently seeking alternate universities and will possibly transfer if FMU fails to make serious changes in the coming months. |
