Every time one's back is turned the Heidelberg (or Adelphi) people try and pull a fast one, or change a rule quickly to meet a special need. This causes confusion and disorganization. Here in Europe, Prof. Jane McHan is schduled to teach SOCY198/498, but she has no degree in sociology, or other known qualification to teach the subject. Even Prof. Ofsowitz said, She doesn't know anything about sociology. We're stuck with her because she gave herself clearance to teach the subject. Prof. Hakeym is another local prof who is teaching sociology - and a lot of other subjects - but he doesn't have a degree or any known training in the subject either. The mpst tragic case is at Spangdahlem, where Prof. Dean Johnson is teaching SOCY105, but is at such an age that she often forgets things, and that causes confusion and disorganization in class, and at test time. She teaches DE courses too which must be an awful experience for uninformed students. We need a real director of social science, who doesn't bend every rule there is to meet her own special needs. A lot of us would also like to know the qualifications of the professor who are teaching a particular subject in a particular field. Are there any rules left at UMUC in Europe that aren't subject to a last minute change? |
