I'm in the Honors Program at Dowling and through it I've made some friends because we had the same classes during my freshman year. Honors students really do receive the best of the best from Dowling's faculty—the professors are very knowledgeable and most of them have earned master's degrees in their fields of study. You will be impressed.

When I first arrived to the campus, I found it rather small and I was a bit dissapointed, but I was aware this for I had seen the images of the college in its printed media. Eventually, I became accustomed to its intimacy, though I wanted the city life and faster pace of larger universities like Fordham University, to which I was accepted, but I decided to attend Dowling to avoid the higher cost.

There's nothing too bad about Dowling except that the social life is not so great, but that depends on the student because there are many clubs, events, trips abroad and special showcases at the college like culturally themed events, public organizations, etc.

I advise staying in the Brookhaven dormitory though it's on the secondary campus, but the main campus in Oakdale is where one has most classes. There's a shuttle bus which goes between the campuses and it also stops at the Oakdale station on the Long Island Railroad, which one can take to New York for fun in the city.
