Austin is known for one school, The University of Texas. So what do you do if you don't want to be involved in a college with over 50,000 students, if you want to be known as a person and not a number, and if you don't want to have your social life revolve around the greek system? You go to St. Ed's of course!

Saint Edward's University is a hidden secret in Austin. If you are from Austin you know about the school. If you are an employer in Austin or the surrounding area you want to hire someone from St. Edward's.

The education they offer is personal, direct, and informative. They teach you how to be an individual and think and act on your own. They also strive on structure and balance.

Most classes get you involved. They offer intense projects that are usually done in groups and require research, hard work, and presentation.

One thing that I admired about St. Ed's is that the professors know that not everyone is a genious when it comes to every subject. In my case, I have a math learning disability and no matter what math was going to be a challenge. Since I was a business major, finance, algebra, accounting, statistics, etc. were required for my degree. I went into those classes afraid of failure and came out successful and informed. As long as the teachers know you try and come to class, they are willing to look past your test grades and focus more on effort.

The social life at St. Ed's is also amazing. Although St. Ed's is a private school and it does have a tendency to attract rich kids from Austin, Dallas, and Houston, everyone gets along. Since you have alot of the same classes with the same people, you get to know everyone. I met some of my best friends there and if you are out in Austin or another city and see someone in their St. Edward's shirt or hat, you know you can speak to them and have a common ground. You are individuals but also part of a family.

I highly recommend Saint Edward's.
