Simple, only go to Dekalb Tech (it's more informal name) to get a certificate or some type of training. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT go here to get a degree. It's not worth it. The classes you take here will not tranfer if you want to go to a two year OR senior institution. Not to mention, you'd be selling yourself short by getting a third rate education. DT's Clarkston campus(their is also one in Covington) is located literally right next door to Georgia Perimeter (which I also attend)and the only facilities and resources they have are bathrooms and computer rooms. They do have a library even though its not on the campus, sorta. They supposedly "share" one with GPC, although I think it belongs solely to them. DT students are allowed there however and it is quiet most of the time. The faculty, in respect to the professors are ok. However, you won't expect alot of instructors in your field of study depending on your major. The teachers are your advisors, a lot like at the GPC colleges. All the other falculty suck. Some of them don't know what their doing and you generally have to wait in a long line (depending on the time of the year, especially fall) if you want to talk to them about important matters. In regards to the atmosphere and the building itself, let's just say if you're looking for an up-to-date, clean, relatively new building, this school doesn't meet your expectations, not even by a long shot. Understandably, the building is over 20 years old (It used to be Dekalb College) and some repairs have been made, however they still have a lot more work to do.

The only benefit you'd get out of this school is that it won't break your wallet. Tuition is very low. Some students get to go here for free if they work for someone that has an payment agreement with them, meaning that their employer will pay their way(Good chose school if you work for UPS. Earn and Learn is available here and they accept deferred billing). Also, if you're lucky depending on your major, you might start off with a good job. Their placement power is somewhat admirable. A few people that went here work at fortune 500 companies and very popular hospitals. Note, these are just stories that I've heard and nothing is guarateed and with the changing economy you're luck could be wasted here. If you want a degree, please, I beg you, look elsewhere. Don't waste your time here.
