Many people don't come back after their first year because of the expense. If you come here you have to be willing to be friendly and get to know the people around you. If you want to have lots of friends and hookups get involved. Get a campus job, get involved in some extra curriculars or even a sports team (it is D3, so it is not very demanding in retrospect). Also, a huge part of AC is the greek life. If you want to be known on campus, go greek, but be careful. Make sure you pick the right fraternity/sorority for you, dont be a sheep and follow your roommate, friends, etc. Come to Alma and really get to know your field, professors, and most of all yourself. Be open minded and beware if you think that all Alma students are money bags- most are very poor. Alma is a little too liberal for most people's likings, me included. Also, pick an easy pre-term such as 'desiging your AC website,' or 'religious studies' so that you can get to know your fellow freshmen the week before the rest of the students get on campus. The food is pretty good… for about a week. However, compared to MSU, CMU, and GVSU, it is top notch. If you are an easy going person who likes to have fun, live in Gelston. If you are a church girl, live in Newberry, a jock who smells bad, live in Mitchell and a flat out D&D kind of person Bruske is the place for you. In all honesty, Gelston and Mitchell are the only halls on campus worth living in unless you can pull strings and get into the new Wright Hall. Living in your greek house is also a way to go, just make sure you can keep up with your grades. |
