WPI's team-based, project-oriented approach provides exactly the type of skill set you need to succeed in many organizations. The 7-week terms force discipline, and the school's focus on putting technology in the context of the needs of society was ahead of its time. Negatives of WPI are that it is less well known than other top schools, but it certainly helped me prepare both for grad school (UVA and Brown), working at top companies like Yankee Group and McKinsey, and now running my own consulting firm. If you are interested in technology—or a hands-on, small, collaborative type of University—you should definitely check out WPI. |
