There are a few teachers that are clearly teaching out of a book, but most I've had classes with genuinely know what they're talking about, and have been in the field for many years. Also, some of the higher level classes teach you the same thing you'd learn from hundred or thousand dollar courses. For example, for $210, I got the same education on Windows Server 2003 that I'd get with a comparable $750 course, and I got college credit for it on top of that! I also took a 100 level course that taught the A+ curriculum, and even prepared you for the A+ exam.I haven't really been involved in the "social scene" of Meramec, but I've found people to be typically sociable at the school. Also, there are an abundance of programs that you can attend that are held all the time.Overall, in my personal opinion, I get the same classes that I'd take from any of the MO State universities, for a lot less money. And, if you're on a tight budget like I am, it really makes a difference. Plus, STLCC's certificate programs make it really easy to give your resume or job training a boost. Going to Meramec is a decision I don't regret. |
