I have no complaints about the school itself. My biggest problem is the fact there isn't much campus activity and the surrounding area is dead. Granted, one cannot expect too much campus activity at a community college when people have other things to do. A bonus is the fact that there are an incredible number of older students ranging from their late twenties to their fifties and even sixties because of the extremely poor economic status of Danville and recent lay offs. Also, the faculty and professors are fantastic. The tutor program is excellent and free for students. If you are an older student dreading the thought of studying around younger people then rest assured knowing that you will have plenty of company. Okay. Back to the social arena. Danville is not a place to party. Every thing is what one makes it, however, there is not much to work with in this area as far as a social life is concerned so one can only make it so good in Danville. Bottom line, the quality of the college, educational experience, and work load are great. I can't recommend a better community college, however, the social opportunities and surrounding area are extremely boring. There's nothing going on in Danville. That's not an exaggeration. When I say nothing! I mean nothing! |
