I'm in the computer animation department, and it started off ok, but then i slowly realized that this school is crap! There is very little art training, and pathetic teachers. Sometimes they don't even show up! I think the school was good back when 3d was just coming around in the 90's but couldn't keep up with the better art universities on the east and west coasts. If you want a quick, sloppy, and vague introduction to animation then this is your school. Students waste thier time and money here. Most of my peers at lazy and don't care. They give little effort and I find myself sinking to thier level at times which is frusterating because I know there's something better! If your serious about animation and you live in the midwest, leave the midwest!!! There is nothing here for animators who consider themselves artists, not designers/programmers. I made a big mistake because I took advice from a student who went here a few years before me. It went down hill since! I recommend Ringling School of Art and Design!!! It's spendy but worth every dollar! |
