My one hope is that someone who was considering CNR will read this and change their mind.I wish someone had warned me about this school before I came. It would have saved me lots of money, sanity and time. CNR was a huge nightmare that Im still trying to forget about. I promise you, I am not exagerating when I say that not ONE person talked to me for about 2 weeks straight. Nobody. It was impossible to make friends. As a white girl from CT, I was the MINORITY. most girls were black or hispanic from the bronx, brooklyn or nyc. I didnt see this as a big deal at first, until I realized that people were making fun of me.If you go to cnr, be prepared to have no social life at all. If you think sitting in your room for 6 hours, waiting for the sun to go down so you can go to bed is fun, then this is your school. If you like making friends, being accepted and being challenged, then you should go somewhere else.Everything about CNR is a joke. from its sports to its academics. I joined the cross country team. Practices included running ONE MILE a day. thats it. One mile. Just one. After realizing I wasnt going to make friends anytime soon, I decided to sign up for every single club possible. Not one of them called me back. I was never informed about any meetings at all.The food was terrible. I am a vegan, and there was never an option for me. Instead of gaining the "freshman 15" I lost about 10 pounds from NOT EATING. Once or twice they had veggie burgers. Why? Oh, because prospective students were visiting that day. They serve 4 types of chicken, but NO vegetarian or vegan option. ever. What did I eat? salad. three times a day, 7 days a week. Frozen vegan burritos once in a while. Once, the cafeteria lady told me that the rice was vegan. I ate it, and threw up for about 2 days straight. It had cheese in it. Everyone got sick from that food. I had never seen a cockroach before I went to CNR. I saw 3 in the cnr cafeteria. One in the rice. One crushed between two trays, and one in the salad bar. YUM!Nobody likes cnr. seriously. I hated every moment of it and so did everyone else. I came back from xmas break and about 20 people never returned, including the one and only friend that I had. I realized that I needed to leave. I transferred out that week, and as I was leaving, people saidI wish I could come with you. I hate it hereenough said. The classes werent exactly EASY but they were far from hard. My teachers sucked for the most part. The one good teacher I had committed suicide. Nobody knew she died because NOBODY TOLD US. The only good part of cnr was the drama club that I later joined, and the ONE friend that I made. |
