My first semester was transitionary; I had to learn how things worked and how to behave in this atmosphere. After that first semester, things just clicked. Longwood is not meant for geniuses. It's meant for people who want to teach, or people who were bright, but not necessarily top-of-the-class. Very few professors are challenging enough for top students, so we tend to become lazy. If you intend to go on to Grad school and you've not been the very best student, or you feel your experience level is a little below where it needs to be, then Longwood is a great place to redevelop your academic skills. If you just want to get through college and get a good job, you can make it here, but don't let the Frat parties distract you too much, or you'll wind up failing out your first semester. |
