It's not for everyone. No, really! If you are contemplative, energetic, love being forced to really explore your environment (both the one outside your window and the one you create in your head) and deal better with questions than answers, it could be a great school for you. You will not have your hands held when it comes to your career decisions, though. I thought that was a blessing - I'm independent, strong-willed and often contrarian - but for other people it can seem overwhelming. You will be treated with respect as an adult, and expected to produce work more like a grad student than an undergrad. Do not even consider going here if you are not self-directed and do not like to really, really sweat about your writing… |
