It was difficult to learn in some of my advanced level business classes as english was the second language of the teachers. I remember one being from Korea and one from Iran. Both were working on graduate PHD degrees (or just having gotten one) and only 8 to 10 years older than the students with little real world experience. Image being in a class studying Auditing or Advanced level accounting with an Iranian professor that had know experience and spoke broken english so bad that the students would have to figure out what he meant to say in addition to the complex accounting topics. To be fair, I did have 2 or 3 good professors with at least one still there.

I transferred to SEMO from a community college. I'd say on balance I had better instructors at the community college than at SEMO. Now I have two children who will be thinking of college soon. I will not encourage them to go to SEMO - at least not the one that is above average in school work. SEMO is OK if someone else told you that you need to get a college degree and you plan to stay in something like Education or in the area of St. Louis or Southeast Missouri. Regionally it is considered an OK school but beyond the above mentioned area it has no more reputation than any other average state school.
