OSU will did not satisfy my expectations, compared to the school I had previously come from in had sufficiently less funds and used them in a wrong manner. The administration cares least about student satisfaction and development. Expected things of universities as being able to register for a class needed, or to reschedule finals if you have more that two per day, are absent, with no change coming soon. The university strongly competes with other state universities, pumping money into advertising and buildings, the outside. The inside of programs and departments which look very diverse in catalog, in reality are very scarce and poor. Lack of equipment, money, professors, echoes all through out the system. There are few outstanding and intellectual students and professors on campus, but there are very few. The city itself offers no cultural or artistic development. I can be thankful to this university for showing me what “I do not want to be”, I started working hard on my own, pushing boundaries, developing contacts for personal success. My parents sponsored me for my undergrad, and there rule was I stay within the state. For my major this was the only university in Oregon. For somebody who has a reason to come here, my advice would be, be active, go everywhere, know where you going if it happens you graduate from OSU, so you loose no time. Prepare to work on your own personal and professional growth, because the system will waist your time on busy work. |
