The professors are not that qualified. the college relys mostly on part timers to save money. many just sit and read out of a book. you regurgitate it. thats it. it is your typical cheap liberal college with subpar professors. I would not recommend it to anyone that really wants to learn. but if you like to memorize irrelavent facts and regurgitate it onto a test than by all means come here. the students are not terribly bright and seem to sit in classes like zombies just writing down the minimum to pass a test. a college is only as good as the professors and this is where york college saves its money. they defend and retain the most incompetant teachers, maybe due to lack of others applying for the positions. who knows. its not higher learning, its rote memorization for tests. the few that would be considered good teachers are retiring and they are hiring young teachers with no experience and its a crap shoot. so much for your grades. cheating is rampant. so much so it should qualify as a college sport. this is not the place to go to be prepared for life. they will woo you with colored booklets and tours and brag on the facilites, but the fact of the matter is,,,it is in a dangerous part of the city and the education is lousy...many students are slackers and experts at passing a class with the least amount of work. in other words they are "working the sytem"
