The "student life" aspect suffers from the fact that IUS is largely a commuter college. The facilities are nice and the faculty are extremely helpful, just don't expect to be greatly challenged by the curriculum. You can learn a lot there, you just have to go beyond what is expected in most classes. IUS has a very relaxed atmosphere which helps if you are also working full-time, as many students are.
