UCR is full of opportunity.

Dynamic professors. Strong libraries. Interesting and tough classes. Practical thinking. Over 200 campus organizations. Hot women. An innovative student body.

When I went there, I took advantage of every resource around me from the professors office hours, to the internships offered on campus. I got the chance to study with Professor Joe Childers for a summer program for aspiring professors and I learned a lot about organization, teaching, research and speaking before crowds.

I was involved with campuses organizations such as U.E.R and The Highlander newspaper. Plus, all the parties that went on every Wed., Thurs. and Fri!

Now, I am currently working as a staff writer for a local newspaper and its my belief I only earned this position through hard work, determination, my internship at Fox Sports in LA and my passion for writing.

In life, you have to decide what is important to you. You start out making these decisions in college, for some earlier than that. UCR is a great place to nuture your hopes and dreams, and along the way, your are encouraged to reach them by your professors, TA's, library staff, family, friends and fellow students.

I'm pleased to learn that UCR will be building a medical school and soon after, a law school, only raising the reputation of the campus. They are competing in NCAA I (though there not that great now) in basketball and other sports. Its a campus on the rise.

Remember college is about what you make of it. Life is about what you make of it. If you sit around and complain all the time, then yea, your not going to get very far. But if you take advantage of what life throws at you, you'll have the best time, believe me.

Vast opportunities lie on campus and whatever goals you want to achieve in life, UCR can help you get there.
