The campus isn't very big, and walking to class rarely takes more then 15 minutes. My professors have been extremely helpful, and I have yet to have one that I didn't like. I think this is a very underrated school. With only about 12,000 students, you can get more personal help unavailable at most bigger flagship publics. The school has a personal feel, and its hard to believe that there is 12,000 students. This is the best school in Idaho, so it attracts many of the best students in the state. Scheduling appointments with advisors is easy, and professors have office hours to assist students. The campus is very safe, and crimes are very rare. Out of state tuition is very reasonable, and in-state tuition is cheap. I have absolutely no complaints about the school, as I am very satisfied with the education I have received so far. However, the town and surrounding area is another story. Moscow is a flat out joke. It is a dirty, under-educated, uninspiring, poor town in the middle of a bunch of wheat fields. There is absolutely nothing to do but go to a couple of the pathetic redneck bars downtown. Although going to sporting events at the U of I and nearby Washington State University are fun for people who like sports. When it snows, they do a terrible job of clearing the streets and sidewalks. This town is so depressing, it makes me wanna put a gun to my head. In my opinion, this is a good school to go to for 1-2 years. If you're from Idaho, this isn't a bad option to get your degree. If you are an out of stater like me, this could be a good safety school. It has been a good experience for me coming here, but I have higher expectations for myself. If you find the right social niche, you could probably have a good time here. However, it isn't the right fit for me. |
