They have great character building tools in place, but have a hard time connecting students with a personal, vibrant walk with God. Their emphasis is on the external rules. I am all for rules and they are needed in a college environment but I am reminded of Ezra and Nehemiah. Ezra rebuilt the temple and then Nehemiah rebuilt the wall to protect the temple. I think that we are too busy building walls to protect a "temple" (or walk with God) that is non-existent in too many lives. |
