My first semester here I absolutely loved mbc, I did amazing academically and even went to some parties at JMU and Hamden-sydney. However, by the second semester I began to notice unmotivated and downright mean many of the individuals are here. Out of all my friends, I was the only one who got a GPA above a 3.0; the only one who got a gpa above even a 2.0! If you want to go to a small-women's school where nearly everyone is in a clique/group and though people will sometimes smile at you, they will never want to hang out and talk. Many of the women are academically unmotivated and some are just unintelligent. There are three main groups of people-PEGS(the gifted 12-17 year olds who live on campus); VWILL(a military/rotc program) and the regular residential people. Each group mainly associates only with eachother, and then they split up into smaller clique like groups who spread malicious rumors and drama is everywhere. The food is pretty bad, there's nothing to do on the weekends as everyone leaves and everything's closed. The only good things are the professors are amazing! Very helpful and some are just hilarious in class; a lot of characters. The library, though it doesn't have a huge selection is very pretty and comfy; good place to study. Lastly, the college is gorgeous, and has a lot of history. Just a block away is downtown Staunton, VA where there is a movie theator, several very good coffee shops, a few cute stores and some restaurants, however most places are closed by 10 pm on the weekends. |
