But it is also a fun/wonderful place to be a student. While I felt the school's motto to be hokey at the time, looking back, Hendrix did help me find my "whole person." The college has gave me a solid academic foundation, which gave me the confidence to excel in whatever I choose to do in the future—be it graduate school, work , or personal development. As far as the social scene, there is a great bond between students that lasts well after graduation. This is because most students live and socialize on campus, and there are only 1200 undergraduates. There is a great sense of community and "family." One example is freshman orientation, a program that is a unique and a wonderful way to make real connections and bonds that develop and continue throughout your collegiate experience. After a year of graduate school in California, I realize that the Hendrix faculity was much more approachable and supportive than is common elsewhere. Hendrix's resources, if used to their full potential, can open up doors on a national level. |
