All prospective chiropractic students, please research the good AND the bad of chiropractic before you commit yourself and more money than you can imagine to this profession! I really encourage all of you to do some soul searching and ask yourself if you really want to fight the uphill battle that is chiropractic. Are you willing to stand up against and fight traditional health care beliefs? Do you think you will feel confident in ALL aspects of running a business, even if adequate business and practice management are NOT a part of your chiropractic education? Do you want to be estimating how many patients you must see just so you can break even every month? If you are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead and are 110% committed to chiropractic, then Palmer is the best place to get your education. Palmer graduates are known as the best adjusters and for good reasons. You will be a great chiropractor once you graduate from Palmer. If you have any doubts about chiropractic whatsoever, please explore those doubts. I made the mistake of just researching the schools and not the profession itself. Please don't make the same mistake I did. There are no guaranteed jobs for chiropractors once you get out of school, unless you are lucky enough to be a part of a family who owns a practice. If you want a guaranteed health care related job after school, please look elsewhere. If you are interested in becoming a chiropractor, immerse yourself in the profession. Talk to as many local DC's as you can from several different schools and search the web for chiropractic success and failure stories. Like others here have said, success in chiropractic depends on how much you are willing to put in. Good luck in whatever you decide to do! |
