I love ACC. I used to look down upon the school when I was in high school. I thought it was a "stupid" school, or for people who weren't that smart. I attended Appalachian State right out of high school and hated it. Everyone was TOO laid back, but class was hard. Walking up and down the mountains to get to and from class was not fun, and it rains a lot in the fall there. I had a senior dorm, apartment style, which is the only thing I miss there. And yeah, it was pretty. Life went on and then I got married and had kids. It was time to go back to school and ACC seemed appealing. It is way more than I expected. Teahers are very nice and approachable and encourage student tips and advice, and anything we really want to say we can. They don't hold back there. Everything is plain and simple, in black and white…and I don't mean racism either (Lectures). I see NONE of that anywhere. Online classes are wonderful. Campus classes are great. Learning and peer collaborations are encouraged. You learn much more at ACC with so much teacher availability and encouragement. Everyone encourages success, and I have not seen any cheating. ACC is not for stupid people and is not a stupid school. It is awesome and I would totally recommend it, especially for those looking to go back to school. It is more for adults, and I like it that way. This is no party school. Everyone is really mature, but friendly. Teachers are there for the students. Go to ACC for your first two years and you won't be disappointed. They are also involved in a new program called C-Step to help those who need financial assistance but make a 3.0 or better and receive their degree in 5 semesters. C-Step is a program to help ACC grads attend UNC-CH, and UNC will help provide funding for you once you are attend.
